Yesterday I gave this backpack to a boy who'll go to kindergarden in September; and he had his third birthday in the beginning of July.
I've made it following a tutorial by Fine Craft Guild, which I found on Pinterest.
The outside of the backpack is made with strips patched together and the closing flap is quilted and appliqued with the first letter of his name. The interior is made with a gingham fabric with a stitched in carton to form the bottom. I've changed the straps to make it look more like a "real" backpack and to make them adjustable....

  2. What a lovely bag, I love the mixture of fabrics. It will be easy for the little boy to find his bag too, because no-one else will have one like it.

    1. Thanks, that was the purpose, since usually so many children have the same (cartoon caracter) bag...

  6. This is such a nice bag you made. Looks like you are a professional seamstress the way the bag is finished. I'm sure it will be very special for the coming school year.

    1. Thanks ! No, I'm no professional seamstress, but the more often you make bags, the easier it gets....
